Art That Runs Deep
Meabh O' Rourke is an Irish equine artist whose work is deeply rooted in the racing and bloodstock world she experiences every day. Working closely with horses has given her and intimate understanding of their power, movement and individuality- qualities she strives to capture in each piece.
Her love of art began at an early age, inspired by her grandmother Maureen Shine. an artist whose creativity first ingnited and inspired Meabh's own passion for drawing and painting. Over time, that early influence developed into a focused appreciation for the thoroughbred and the unique character of each horse.
Drawing inspiration from renowned equine artist such as Tony O' Connor, Peter Curling and John Fitzgerald, Meabhs' work celebrated the strength, elegance and beauty of the horse. Through her artwork she aims to convey not only the physical spirit of the thoroughbred but the presence and personality that make each horse unforgettable.
Meabh aims to celebrate the thoroughbred- from the elegance of the mare and foal to the intensity and ferocity of the racehorse in full stride.
